2024 DMC Scratch World Finals in Paris, France
This year marks the first live DMC Scratch World Final in Paris. Since its online launch in 2021, hundreds of DJs have participated, and this year’s event promises to be an exciting spectacle! The live finals will feature a Q&A-style scratch battle, popular in scratch competitions worldwide. Details on the format are below. World Finals Eliminations (If Necessary):
The top finalists will compete in a Q&A-style scratch battle.
Up to 4 DJs will compete against each other in each elimination round
Each DJ will scratch 16 bars, twice.
Beats will range between 60 and 133 BPM, featuring heavily drum-based tracks.
World Finals:
The top 4 finalists will engage in a thrilling Q&A-style scratch battle.
Each DJ will scratch 16 bars, twice.
The reigning champion will determine the order of the battle.
Round 1:
DJs will scratch 16 bars, twice.
Beats:(Slow round) 60-70 BPM, minimal and heavily drum-based tracks.
Round 2:
DJs will scratch 16 bars, twice.
Beat: (Fast round) 100 - 120 bpm, minimal and heavily drum-based tracks.
Round 3:
DJs will scratch 16 bars, twice.
Beat:(Electro round) 120 - 133 bpm, minimal and heavily drum-based tracks.
Round 4:
DJs will scratch 16 bars, twice.
Beat: 90 BPM, minimal and heavily drum-based tracks.
Tiebreaker (If needed):
DJs will scratch 16 bars, twice.
Beat: Will range between 60 - 133 bpm, minimal and heavily drum-based tracks. Additional Requirements:
DJs must supply their needles (Phase DJ allowed), headphones, slipmats, scratch vinyl/sample, and laptop.
